Lauren Long
Hey there, mama! I’m Lauren, a military spouse and proud girl-mom to my spunky 2-year-old. A San Diego transplant, I’m originally from the East Coast, but have embraced San Diego as my home for the last four years. What’s my day-to-day life look like? A FIT4MOM class for sure, a 100 percent chance of chasing my toddler around, an attempt to take my stubborn English Bulldog for a walk, and ending with some self-care (thank you Bravo TV shows!) Prior to embarking on my motherhood journey, I spent 5 years as a Special Education teacher. When I had my daughter I traded in my backpack and lesson plans for my diaper bag and stroller, but not without some bumps in the road.
To be real, my postpartum journey had a rocky start. I lost myself while trying to get comfortable in my new role as a mom. I was unprepared for how isolating motherhood can be, even though you’ve got your little one right there. To top it off, my husband was deploying and I knew I needed something, and fast!
Enter the 2 AM google search, “FIT4MOM.” Somewhere in my sleep-deprived memory I remembered a nurse mentioning how FIT4MOM changed her motherhood experience, and boy was she right! I tried my first class days after my husband deployed and joined on the spot! Why? Because there is something so magical about breaking a sweat with my girl by my side while connecting with other incredible mamas who just get it!
Fast forwarding to today, FIT4MOM has changed my life in more ways than I could ever expect! Having the opportunity to instruct, I love giving back to the villages that have lifted me up countless times. Every class is a celebration, a chance to connect, and an opportunity to grow stronger together.
So here’s the invite: Join me for class anytime! Let’s sweat, laugh, and make memories together – I’d absolutely love to see you there!
