Mom of the Month

Hey everyone! My name is Trisha, and I’m the exhausted and very proud mama of my two girls, Zoe and Maya. Zoe is a shy & sweet, social & silly 3-year-old. Maya is a happy, knows-no-fear, dog-loving 18-month-old.

They are full of life, love, and energy, and I’m just trying to keep up with them! We also have our two sweet pups, Milo and Lyla.

I’m a stay-at-home mom these days, and my husband works full-time from home. We’ll be married for 5 years in November!

Before I was a mom, I was an early childhood dance and fitness instructor and educator. I also served in ministry at my church as a stretch and strength instructor for women in recovery programs, and later worked as a mobility and flexibility trainer at a boutique fitness studio.

I have always enjoyed being around young children. Coming from an early education background, I thought I had this toddler stage down. Turns out, when they are yours, it’s a whole different story!

I do love teaching my girls all the fun dances and seeing them learn and grow. I’m honestly having the time of my life, and I don’t take it for granted for one second. I know I will long for these golden years when my kids are older.

When I was younger, I had the opportunity to travel to Brazil, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic on mission trips. I’ve also traveled for fun my whole life. Some of my favorite experiences have been a Disney cruise to the Bahamas, where I danced on stage with my dance studio; Hawaii (9 times…and counting!); and Jamaica for a wedding.

Since meeting my husband, we’ve had a passion for seeing the National Parks. We’ve still got plenty to see, but my all-time favorite so far has been Yosemite, especially since he proposed under a waterfall there! Okay, next to it. :) It was 104° and we had hiked a bit to get there. It was as sweaty as it sounds, but oh-so-romantic!

We can’t wait to take our girls in tow to see some more amazing places!

And then there’s Fit4Mom. Where do I begin? Is it too much to say this community has saved my life? Well, at least my mental sanity! That. Is. The. Truth.

When Zoe was 9 months old, we began our journey. I had known about Fit4Mom for years and I always knew I wanted to join this community, but I was anxious and still a little bit in shock from my not-so-smooth birth with my preemie princess. But I knew I needed to get healthy again for myself and my family and find other mamas on the same journey.

Being around like-minded mamas who were going through the same things made me feel human and normal when not much else did. The workouts are always top-tier, and the instructors are chef’s kiss 🤌, but seriously, the friendships are the highlight for us!

Zoe has made a great group of friends, and so have I! I’m so grateful to have found this group when I needed it most. Having my second baby was just that much easier with this village to come back to. I might even have another baby so I can stay a little longer. ;) JK.

But seriously, we absolutely love our “Ladies and Babies”! That’s what we started calling it when Zoe could talk because it was easier to say than “Stroller Strides.” It’s been great for my mental health and also great for my sciatica! I’m so grateful for this village, the friendships, and all the memories we’ve made together. I truly can’t imagine this season of motherhood without my Ladies and Babies! ❤️
