Hey y'all, it’s Sami!

I’m so excited to be August’s mom of the month. I have been a part of FIT4MOM since September 2023 and have been hooked ever since.

I am originally from the North Shore of Louisiana and spent most of my childhood in Destin, Florida. I grew up a competitive dancer and spent my free time baking or on the beach. Sometime in high school I set my sights on becoming a nurse. I applied to several schools in Chicago, despite never visiting before, and PLNU in San Diego (a real wildcard). After visiting all my dream schools in Chicago during Junior year spring break, and encountering an unexpected blizzard, I was praying I would get into Point Loma. Thankfully, I made it in and was able to move to San Diego.

Upon entering nursing school, I had no idea what specialty I would fall into. It took three years of searching, but I fell in love with women’s health. I was so fortunate to land a job as a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse at UCSD.

Around that time I also started dating my husband, Shane. He is originally from Oahu and we met on Bumble when he was finishing law school. He has always been the greatest step father to my cat, Margot, and I knew he would make a great dad to a human child one day. We love to travel, eat good food, and binge new TV shows. We have 2 sweet babies; Daisy June (2) and Miles (10 months).

After 5 years of nursing, I have recently transitioned to full-time child wrangler/gourmet chef/maid/driver AKA stay at home mom. I can’t express how great it has been to have a whole pool of experts through FIT4MOM to help with my new role!
