Mom of the Month

Hi mamas!

I’m Jennie, mom to Oliver and Giana, wife to Andrew, working in tech PR and powered by my all-natural woo-woo pre-workout mix and early morning workouts. I’m especially honored to be Mom of the Month during the month of mama. It feels like a full-circle moment, especially since last year I had the chance to help get FIT4MOM on TV so more moms in San Diego could find this inspiring community.

I found FIT4MOM after my second pregnancy thanks to my college bestie, Priscilla, who pulled me in. After having Oliver, I experienced postpartum anxiety, and I am 99 percent sure if I had found a community like this the first time, things might have looked very different. There’s something incredibly powerful about being surrounded by moms who just get it, who see you fully and show up for you every day.

I’m a born and raised Vegas girl, which, if you’ve met me, you’d probably say, “that tracks.” My first job in PR was promoting my hometown and the “What Happens Here, Stays Here” campaign.

It’s also what led me to Andrew. We met at a work dinner and instantly clicked, but started as friends. Years later, when I was newly single and he had moved to Seattle, he reached out. That slide into my DMs turned into dating, a move to the Pacific Northwest and my transition into tech comms. It was a bit of a whirlwind. Our early days of dating were filled with travel and we got to fall in love all over the world, from Costa Rica to a trip to Italy with my big Italian family, 14 strong, where we all thought he was a little crazy for joining. If I'm honest, it also sealed the deal and kept with our love of travel with a destination wedding in Playa del Carmen. Now our adventures look a little different with the little loves of our lives, and we wouldn’t trade it for all the first-class tickets in the world.

As a working mom, I don’t make the weekday classes anymore, but Body Boost and Run Club are non-negotiables for me. You’ll find me there early every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. and running with the group on Sundays. It’s my reset, 'me time' with my ladies, my sanity and has led to the biggest changes in both my body and mindset. Also, nothing bonds you faster than a 6 a.m. workout, especially with a bangin' playlist and amazing spirit from Kristin.

Becoming a mom to Oliver and Gigi is hands down the best role I’ve ever had. FIT4MOM has given me SO MUCH more than fitness. Finding this sister of motherhood gave me the community I've been craving and seeking. It’s connection, accountability and a reminder that we’re not doing this alone, even on the hardest days.
